1. Tell Me Again Why You Need 50 Empty Cottage Cheese Containers?? – A Look at the Emotional and Spiritual Aspects of Holding on to Too Much Stuff.

This talk will provide a humorous yet relevant mental health look at the phenomenon of holding onto our stuff too long and the (sometimes) slippery slope to full blown hoarding.

The speaker will review why these behaviors exist, the role the brain and memory can play in this, and the deep emotional attachments and beliefs about possessions that

often determine our inability to let go. Participants will learn the mental and emotional underpinnings of this “surrender struggle” and good news tips on how to cope and stay resilient through life’s challenges. $100  Provider: Sally King – [ismember] Request This Program [/ismember]

Now we have the science to prove that your weekly quilting circle actually does make you live longer!  Come learn tips on how to encourage aging well in yourself and others — both mentally and emotionally — and what this has to do with friendships, exercise and sunlight levels, and the role of genetic vulnerability. There will be a review on how “being social” changes as you come into your senior years, and how to keep those friendships alive, despite medical or life set-backs. The discussion will end with a brief review of the latest research on aging and mental health and how professionals can encourage emotional resilience in their seniors. $100  Provider: Sally King – [ismember] Request This Program [/ismember]
